Escaping the mistakes of his past, a young man prepares to endure the winter in an isolated cabin in the forest. Far from being alone, however, he is haunted by a strange wolf who seems to want something from him. But is it only a wolf? And is he in greater peril if he holds the wolf close, or keeps it at bay?

His Yellow Eyes is a work of interactive fiction about queer isolation and connection, and also about a man who meets a wolf alone in the woods. Each choice is impactful to a greater or lesser extent, shaping a highly individualized narrative with each playthrough.

Just finished with the available content, and planning on try out some of the other options on replay.

Loved it a lot, thanks for making it!  Hope you decide to continue this project!

i know this is a demo but i like it more than i probably should, everything since the narrative to the music it's just gorgeous, i'm looking forward to see the complete version, nice job and keep it up the good work.

Thank you! I'm so pleased you love this version of it. It will remain "just a demo" for a while, so I am glad you appreciate it as is!

The music is very nice, but a mute icon may be helpful so that players know to turn their sound on. Or have the ability to turn it off if needed.

The narrator's internal monologue sometimes over-explains what the player can infer. There's opportunity to trim it down.

I also would be interested to see the large chunks broken up with choices, even if those choices are benign and just serve as the narrator's internal monologue at the moment.

All in all I enjoyed the demo and I look forward to the full version.

Thanks for your feedback! I'm not sure how to add a mute button in Twine, so for now the player should just feel free to mute the tab if they don't like the soundscape.

Thank you! I'm hoping to finish the Demo relatively soon, the finished product may take a little longer :)

This is eerily beautiful..

Thank you very much! I hope it lives up to your expectations.

This game is so interesting! It seems so well thought out, my only objection is that I have to compete with such high quality! I haven't finished yet, but the eventual ending will be interesting, I know it! Are these partly based on your own experiences or is this all from your imagination?

(+1)

Thanks so much for your comment! I wouldn't say it's based on my experiences exactly haha, I've never spent the winter in a cabin with a wolf after all, but I would say it is honest to my own experiences.

this is great! the pacing you achieve with the passage lengths and writing style is on point, and i look forward to seeing the finished product!
